Myth, Identity and the 'weight of emotion' are all key entry point within my multi-layed practice. As an artist from the richly historic town of Pontypridd, and born in Beddau ('Welsh; Graves') - decay, esotericism and entropy have rooted deep within the symbolic sensibilities of my practice. Inspired by the transcience of the contemporary human condition and the concept of 'Samsara', my work attempts to marry fragile connections within my own 'Destiny' into a coherent 'visual lexicon'. Creation equates catharsis within my practice, and catalyses personal emotional trauma as a vehicle for change within myself and the viewer
My multi-discplinary practice encompasses temporary interventions, site-specific installations, sculpture, painting, and more recently; catalysing performance and digital 'moodboards'. These two recent developments run parallel with two germinating veins of development within my practice; the attempt to redetermine Masculinity, and the dangerous contextual effect of the internet on a developing mind. As well as 'The Cloud' and it's ongoing 'warping' effects on traditional symbolism and myth (acting as an un-ending fountain of inspiration). To understand and transmute this 'context' into my search for purpose within my own life, and the lives of those around me, informs my own understanding of Art and it's role in the wider context of the human condition.
